Jesus warned that there will be false prophets. So, was Mohammed a false prophet? He claimed that Jesus was a prophet, but not the Messiah.
Thoughts?
Thank youHow do we know who is a false prophet?
If it goes against Christs teachings,it is false. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. His word will not change. Also you can pray for discernement. How do we know who is a false prophet?
ARRRGH!!!!! People, do you really think that your way is the only true way? This is why most religions can't stand Christians. You are all so convinced of your own rightousness that you fail to see that the bible was written by men. MEN LIE... beat women and children.. your own holy men rape kids!!!

You have to exercise some skepticism. This is hard for some Christians, because for some, Christianity is all about believing, not questioning. But you can't just take peoples' word for stuff, you have to listen critically and think to yourself 'Now, is that true?'
Think about this. If there are false prophets, who would be led astray by them? Certainly not atheists and agnostics, who don't believe in prophets to begin with! The people who would be misled by false prophets are the people who believe the most, who are most eager to hear the word of God from the mouths of men (that's what prophets are, after all!)
CS Lewis makes this point himself, in The Screwtape Letters, that the most devout Christians are often the easiest to be led astray.
Mohammed is not a false prophet. He is a prophet for a different religion. Big difference. A false prophet is one who pretends to be speaking for YOUR religion, but who teaches you something different.
Religion has always been used to serve politics. Jesus railed against that in his time, he sharply criticized the leaders of his own faith for being corrupted by politics. But that still goes on. You should be very wary of spiritual leaders who mix a political message in with their spiritual one. THOSE are the false prophets of today.
Where exactly are you getting your information? Jesus(peace and blessings be upon him) was a Prophet aswell as the Messiah.
Go here, type ';Messiah';:

Also, don't forget that Jesus in the Bible promised ';another comforter';. That comforter was none other than the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
Thanks for your respect, i really appreciate that
I do not believe Muhammed pbuh is a false problem because he had given us proof that even Christians and Jews agree on for example, Angels and Life after death. So he explained the same spiritual story.
Also, there was a priest who was the cousin of Khadeeja (prophet mohammed's first wife who died). And he was an Arab priest called Waraqa. He was the one who admitted that Prophet Mohammed was the last prophet after Prophet Mohammed explained to him about angel Gabriel in the Cave of Hira.
We also believe that Jesus pbuh had explained to some Christians that there will be a new prophet called Ahmed. And in the bible no where does it say that Jesus was the last prophet. Except saying he is Son of God and God etc etc....
It was written in the scriptures of the Injeel, but an author changed prophet Ahmed's name and said that he was a historian.
But you are right about false prophets, there have been many sects (even Muslim) that rank people as high as the prophets. For example, some Muslims think Ali (mabpw) is the prophet and there is a man called Ahmed in south east Asia who said he was the new modern day prophet, making his own new Qur'an that no one believes in. And his sector is called the Ahmeddis.
So there are many false sayings that come through in times. My dad told me tales of a man in prophet Mohammed's days who got jealous of the Qur'an and made his own, it sounded like a babyish poem and he was named a comedian.
In Matthew Chapter 7 Jesus said,
15';Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
It might be easier to explain what a TRUE prophet is:
1) Always agrees with Scripture
2) Always points people back to God's Word
3) Does not seek to be a prophet, or self-glorification
4) Confesses that Jesus Christ is the Son of God/Messiah
5) God performs miracles through them
Well, the Jews believe Jesus was a false prophet. Why are they wrong? If there was a true prophet today, would people throw them in an insane assylum? I think most people should look to the TV and their churches to find false prophets, humans, even if in their best attempt to be righteous, leading others into their interpretations of God and Bible and The Word. There are many false prophets
If God was to send a prophet here, the whole world would know about it. Anyone that has claimed to be a prophet is false, because I guarantee that we would all have heard about it.
When you're walking in the Spirit of God, His Spirit will quicken you and you will know when you are in the presence of a false prophet or a false teacher.
A false prophet teaches or says something that is not what god has said.
If they say something will happen and it does not that person is not a prophet from God.
Making outrageous claims with absolutely no evidence is generally your first clue. Asking you to just have faith comes in at a close second.
Jesus also predicted the coming of Islam but did not say if it was good or bad so I don't think we will ever no.
But I respect MOHAMMAD just as much as JESUS and think they
are both GOD's prophets.
Long may they rest.
';False prophet'; is redundant.
It all comes down to a strong feeling, or a tingling in your stomach. Some will refer to this as faith.
ask him/her
every false prophet will claim to be real.
(Deuteronomy.18:20-22)
read the book of revalations i think its the pope.
The ';false prophet'; are the ones that tell you that christ is coming and then he dose not!
By the fruits of their actions.

The mere statement that there are and have been true prophets is also an assertion that there are and have been false prophets. Our Lord's counsel, ';Beware of false prophets'; (Matt. 7:15), is pointed instruction to weigh the claims of the prophets, accepting the true, rejecting the false.
';When a man goes about prophesying, and commands men to obey his teachings, he must either be a true or false prophet. False prophets always arise to oppose the true prophets, and they will prophesy so very near the truth that they will deceive almost the very chosen ones.'; (Teachings, p. 365.)
';If any person should ask me if I were a prophet, I should not deny it, as that would give me the lie; for, according to John, the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy; therefore, if I profess to be a witness or teacher, and have not the spirit of prophecy, which is the testimony of Jesus, I must be a false witness; but if I be a true teacher and witness, I must possess the spirit of prophecy, and that constitutes a prophet; and any man who says he is a teacher or preacher of righteousness, and denies the spirit of prophecy, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; and by this key false teachers and impostors may be detected.'; (Teachings, p. 269.)
The mere claim on the part of professing religionists that they have the testimony of Jesus does not of itself guarantee or prove that they do in fact have the spirit of prophecy so as to be true prophets. Rather, truth seekers are commanded: ';Believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.'; (1 John 4:1.) ';There are many spirits which are false spirits, which have gone forth in the earth, deceiving the world. ... But wo unto them that are deceivers and hypocrites, for, thus saith the Lord, I will bring them to judgment.'; (D. %26amp; C. 50:2-6.)
A person claiming to be a true spiritual leader might present such a good imitation of a true prophet as to deceive those who do not themselves have the guidance and inspiration of the Spirit. But in addition to giving lip service to the assertion that Jesus is the Christ, a true prophet must conform his life to the divine pattern; he must conform to the laws and ordinances which the Lord has revealed. ';He that speaketh,'; the Lord says, ';whose spirit is contrite, whose language is meek and edifieth, the same is of God if he obey mine ordinances.';
Jesus was the Messiah.
From that, Mohammed was false because he denied Jesus as the Messiah.
If he were a prophet, he would still be alive.
He died, and will come back again.
