You are assuming that the ';Whore of Babylon'; is the Roman Catholic Church. Since the Book of Revelation states that it was written about the things that ';must soon take place'; (Rev. 1.1), I seriously doubt that the author had the Catholic Church in mind.

No, The Catholic Church is the church that Jesus established in 33AD. Jesus gave Peter the church to lead. You are calling Jesus Christ a liar if you are saying the church He established is the whore of babylon. Another point, the Vatican is it's own country and does not sit on 7 hills
