Why wont Mormons look into why Joseph Smith might possibly be a false prophet?

According to this website, historical findings that are regarded as truth have been discovered, not to mention literally several contradictions in doctrine with the book of Mormon from Joseph Smith.

http://www.carm.org/religious-movements/mormonism/book-abraham-papyri-and-joseph-smithWhy wont Mormons look into why Joseph Smith might possibly be a false prophet?
Why not? Because we have received an answer and confirmation from the Lord that Joseph IS a prophet. What greater witness can you have than from God?

God is much smarter than any scientist on the earth... I'll trust Him thanks. Why wont Mormons look into why Joseph Smith might possibly be a false prophet?
Actually, most of us have looked into it. You can't ask a question like this unless you've done the same: have you looked into why Joseph Smith might possibly be a true prophet? If not, you have no credence.

BTW, Carm is a crappy website. Most of the stuff it has listed there is just plain wrong.
Why don't you see the possibility that he was a true prophet?

I've viewed the possibility of him being a false prophet, I've studied about him, then I prayed about him and now I know.

carm isn't exactly a reliable source on mormonism. Don't confuse propaganda with reliable research.
We do and we find Joseph Smith to be a true prophet of God.

I always amaze how people just believe in a ';Website';.

If anyone would spend time look into what ';Carm'; claims, you will find they are full of distortion and lies.

Here, since you like websites, try out www.jefflindsay.com, or www.fairlds.org. for a better propective on the truth.
According to this website

http://www.fairlds.org

kicks your so called findings away
Most Mormons were born into their religion and have never seriously considered that the rest of the world is right and they are wrong.
Probably for the same reasons why some christians refuse to look into why Jesus Christ might possibly be a false god.
*cough* Book of Abraham *cough*
They did, but they still think he's a true prophet.
We do.

Why won't people like yourself look into why Joseph Smith might possibly be a true prophet of God?
The website you point out tells the answer:

They rely not on biblical evidence, not on historical evidence, but rather trust a 'testimony' that Mormonism is the restored church and Joseph Smith its true prophet.

I find this to be true. They have an amazing faith. It doesn't matter what evidence there is, they believe they heard from God. It's too bad that their faith is not grounded in reality.

They are as this verse says:

Romans 10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
