Why do Christians call other religion's god and prophet false god and false prophet?
only by christians muslims and jews any thing except by their god is sent for religion is false they are a bunch of narrow minded people who have war over religion and this is what their god did to people
It always amazes me how many times this God orders the killing of innocent people even after the Ten Commandments said “Thou shall not kill”. For example, God kills 70,000 innocent people because David ordered a census of the people (1 Chronicles 21). God also orders the destruction of 60 cities so that the Israelites can live there. He orders the killing of all the men, women, and children of each city, and the looting of all of value (Deuteronomy 3). He orders another attack and the killing of “all the living creatures of the city: men and women, young, and old, as well as oxen sheep, and asses” (Joshua 6). In Judges 21, He orders the murder of all the people of Jabesh-gilead, except for the virgin girls who were taken to be forcibly raped and married. When they wanted more virgins, God told them to hide alongside the road and when they saw a girl they liked, kidnap her and forcibly rape her and make her your wife! Just about every other page in the Old Testament has God killing somebody! In 2 Kings 10:18-27, God orders the murder of all the worshipers of a different god in their very own church! In total God kills 371,186 people directly and orders another 1,862,265 people murdered.
The God of the Bible also allows slavery, including selling your own daughter as a sex slave (Exodus 21:1-11), child abuse (Judges 11:29-40 and Isaiah 13:16), and bashing babies against rocks (Hosea 13:16 %26amp; Psalms 137:9).
This type of criminal behavior should shock any moral person. Murder, rape, pillage, plunder, slavery, and child abuse can not be justified by saying that some god says it’s OK. If more people would actually sit down and read the Bible there would be a lot more atheists like myself.
Jesus also promoted the idea that all men should castrate themselves to go to heaven: ';For there are eunuchs, that were so born from their mother's womb: and there are eunuchs, that were made eunuchs by men: and there are eunuchs, that made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. Actually, me personal belief is that a new form of Islam will come about, possibly mixing with the Catholic Church and the two will become one world religion. I believe the Catholic church will suffer financially and be close to complete bankruptcy due to all the old and new lawsuits arising from all the sexual abuse scandals. In order to stay solvent, the Catholic church will be more than willing to join Islam, saving themselves financially and politically. This new world organization will be the ';Harlot'; referred to in the book of Revelation. When the worlds economies collapse and the offering plates are empty, the heads of the Catholic church will betray their followers by denouncing the Deity of Christ and joining Islam to create this New World Religion. The world will see this merging as a way to end war and bloodshed and the world will embrace it. I guess soon afterwards, a peace deal will be signed with Israel and all of the middle east. The world will be at peace and people everywhere will celebrate. According to Scripture, this peace will not last. Clearly, then, a false prophet is one who is trying to turn us aside from worshiping the true God. If they are attempting to subvert our faith and cause us to stop serving the true God, of necessity they must be the false prophets!
Even Jesus warned, at Matthew 7:22, that in the final days so-called disciples would be performing great signs. But he would call their works lawlessness.
In the final analysis, a false prophet is one trying to subvert the true faith and turn worshipers away from the true God.

3) Does this teacher exhibit character qualities that glorify the Lord? Speaking of false teachers, Jude 11 says, “They have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah.” In other words, a false teacher can be known by his pride (Cain’s rejection of God’s plan), greed (Balaam’s prophesying for money), and rebellion (Korah’s promotion of himself over Moses).

If you really think about it, you'll discover more, but I'll throw you one more.
All prophecy is given by God, right? So, if the prophecy exalts man in any way, and does not give glory to God, then BINGO! False prophet.
Retroactively you examine their prophecies and determine if they were right or wrong. To examine a prophecy in any other way is a form of prophesying in itself.
Any article that starts with ';Ten things....'; is hardly likely to be considered factual itself, being a popular device in trashy magazines.
Does the prophecy line up with current other words?
Does it agree with Scripture?
Does it agree with your inner witness?
Does this person have a proven record of accuracy?
Does this person have genuine character?
Does the word point to G-d, or somewhere else?
Most people have that definition in mind – it is found at Deuteronomy 18:20-22. A closer examination of this scripture, however, shows that even false prophets can give signs that actually come true.
But there is another given by God found at Deuteronomy 13:1-5: “In case a prophet or a dreamer of a dream arises in your midst and does give you a sign or a portent, and the sign or the portent does come true of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us walk after other gods, whom you have not known, and let us serve them,’ you must not listen to the words of that prophet or to the dreamer of that dream, because Jehovah your God is testing you to know whether you are loving Jehovah your God with all your heart and all your soul. After Jehovah . . . you should walk, and him you should fear . . . , and him you should serve . . . And that prophet or that dreamer of the dream should be put to death, because he has spoken of revolt against Jehovah your God . . . and you must clear out what is evil from your midst.”
Clearly, then, a false prophet is one who is trying to turn us aside from worshiping the true God. If they are attempting to subvert our faith and cause us to stop serving the true God, of necessity they must be the false prophets!
Even Jesus warned, at Matthew 7:22, that in the final days so-called disciples would be performing great signs. But he would call their works lawlessness.
In the final analysis, a false prophet is one trying to subvert the true faith and turn worshipers away from the true God.

The same standard applies today as then! Be careful however, to avoid ';generalized'; prophecy or things that can easily manipulated by man to come true.
There is no more prophesy. We know that Jesus was a false prophet because none of his predictions happened. We will know the messiah because he will bring peace on earth for all mankind.

All old testament prophets prophecies came true. Not one was false.
I can think of only five, right now. 1. If their predictions do not come true. 2. If they contradict the Bible. 3. If their predictions are so general that anyone could make them. 4. If their predictions do not in some way glorify God. 5. If they glorify themselves.

In Matthew in the New Testament it says we should judge a prophet by the fruits of their prophecies (whether they come true). Muhammad's prophecies did come true!

As Paul warns in Galatians 1:7, “There be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” No one, not even a great preacher, has the right to change the message that God gave us. “If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed” (Galatians 1:9).
3) Does this teacher exhibit character qualities that glorify the Lord? Speaking of false teachers, Jude 11 says, “They have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah.” In other words, a false teacher can be known by his pride (Cain’s rejection of God’s plan), greed (Balaam’s prophesying for money), and rebellion (Korah’s promotion of himself over Moses).

He IS the awesome uncreated Creator of the universe, the Author of life.
He IS worthy of ALL praise and thanksgiving.

He provided the help we need for discerning who is prophesying the Truth and who is making FALSE statements in such verses as Deuteronomy 18:20-22.
It does not take rocket science to figure out that since the Watchtower spoke of (prophesied) events that did NOT happen on more than one occasion they match the criteria for labeling the organization as a FALSE prophet.
This topic always reminds me of a mystery I saw in the Sixties or early Seventies. I don't remember the name or the stars - it may have been Ray Milland and either Grace Kelly or Doris Day. Maybe it was Tippy Heddron. The woman's car broke down on a rainy night in a lonely isolated area. Not having a cell phone she knocked on a door to ask the man to call for help. It looked TO HER like he dialed the number and spoke all of the right words. However the audience was able to see that his finger was on the button so of course the call did not go through.

I have on my shelf, a 1950 edition and 1960 edition of the NWT, and it reads ';worship'; in Hebrews 1:6 where God the Father says for the angels to worship Jesus. Something God does not allow except to, of course, God!

God is always right. He warns us in His word that there are going to be false prophets. He asks us not to guess the time of Jesus' coming. He asks us to be ready.

News flash! All prophecy is false!!! Their prophets are false and so are yours. It's all make believe. The difference is that you notice when the JWs get it wrong. Go here for some enlightenment about the accuracy of so-called prophecies about the end times, where JWs are the worst, just for starters, but Jesus has some failed prophecy of his own if you look at it without straining at gnats and swallowing camels. I don't necessarily describe Paul as a ';false prophet';, but I do believe he got some stuff very wrong. Being a Pharisee, he was expecting the coming of the Messiah to instill the end of days. This explains why he ran from place to place preaching his, ';the sky is falling'; message. This also explains why he was so openly opposed to Peter, James, and John. Though Paul was definitely off with his end of the world theories as well as most of his doctrinal beliefs about Jesus, since he had never actually met him, I do give Paul one thing. Yes. The Bible teaches that His prophets only speak His words, and everything that they say will happen. God told the Israelites that they would know if a prophet was false if even one thing he predicted did not happen. For a comparison, the famous Nostrodomus made hundreds of predictions about the future, centuries ago. He is world famous now and many people swear by him as a great ';seer'; of the future. But his accuracy is only 11%. However, there is not even one prediction (prophecy) in the Bible that has not come true. A 100% accuracy rating. That's hard evidence of something supernatural about the Bible.

Well...basically. But it's a little bit trickier than that. The bible tells us that God will (at times) actually inspire false prophets to provide true prophecy in order to test his followers. The test is this: if the prophet gives credit for the prophecy to anyone/anything other than God, or if the prophet attempts to persuade people to worship any other god, then God is using that prophet to test his people.
There is also a single case in which God intentionally causes a prophet to prophesy falsely. That was done to lead a wicked king to his downfall. The prophet was not a ';true'; prophet, however - that is, he was not a prophet of God.
There is a final case: that of Jonah, who prophesied that Nineveh would be destroyed on a certain day. It was not: the people of Ninevah repented, and God did not fulfill that prophecy. This is the only case I know in which a true prophet prophesied something that did not come true.

Deu 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
Deu 18:19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
Deu 18:20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
Deu 18:21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?

The apostle John wrote that the antichrist was already existing in his day, and would be active right until Armageddon. Also, John used the term ';antichrists'; in plural, implying that several individuals would comprise an 'antichrist class'.

For a fact, Jesus emphasized that feature of his presence more than anything else. For example, in response to his disciples question regarding his presence, the very first thing Jesus said was: “Look out that nobody misleads you; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.”
Further on in Matthew’s account Jesus said: “And many false prophets will arise and mislead many…”
And again in the 23rd verse Jesus warned his disciples, saying: “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look! Here is the Christ,’ or, ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones. Look! I have forewarned you.”

I think the false prophet is part of the unholy trinity so the antiChrist can't be the same people and individual members of the nholy trinity at the same time.

In the very next verse, John continues that comment by remarking that these antichrists were formerly true Christians who had strayed from the Truth.

Thus, the antichrist is the body of apostate Christian deceivers. For a fact, Jesus emphasized that feature of his presence more than anything else. For example, in response to his disciples question regarding his presence, the very first thing Jesus said was: “Look out that nobody misleads you; for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.”
Further on in Matthew’s account Jesus said: “And many false prophets will arise and mislead many…”
And again in the 23rd verse Jesus warned his disciples, saying: “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look! Here is the Christ,’ or, ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones. Look! I have forewarned you.”
Clearly, if even the chosen ones run the risk of being misled by imposters and false prophets, so that Jesus was obligated to issue such an emphatic warning directed specifically to his disciples living during that time, it should be evident that the deception will come from a source the chosen ones do not expect. In order for the chosen ones to possibly be misled the deceivers would have to come from within the organization itself.
Elsewhere in scripture, namely II Peter, Jude, and Revelation, false prophets are described as certain men who operate quietly from within the congregations.
Indeed, Jesus went on to specifically forewarn his disciples that during the tribulation, false prophets and false christs could present a very real spiritual danger to even the chosen ones. But, in order for such deceitful workers to have any influence over Jehovah's chosen ones, it would be necessary for them to be inside the organization; posing as teachers and guides.

There is no doubt Jesus was the Messiah. Yes I did look at your web page. First yes Isaiah was talking about the Jewish nation as well as about the Christ in his dualistic manner of writing. Wasn't he great? As far as the prophecies that Jesus didn't fulfill, the only ones are the ones he has yet to fulfill upon his second coming. Then those to will also be fulfilled. As for the whole Jewish nation knowing their Prophets, I ask when did that come about? They jailed, stoned and tried to kill most of them when they walked the earth. It was only many many years later after their words came true they were considered prophets by the Jews themselves. If they would have been considered prophets when they walked the earth most of the Jews problems would not have happened, if I read the bible correctly. However the Good news is the Jews are still Gods chosen people and Jesus will return to them and they will except him when by his hand he saves them once again just like the prophecy says.
